UH West O‘ahu - Surveys
The Assessment and Institutional Research office surveys students, recent graduates, and alumni regarding their academic experience at UH West O‘ahu. For current students, the surveys request information on student engagement activities (College Student Experiences Questionnaire, National Survey of Student Engagement), learning patterns, perceptions of campus climate, and personal development.
Since 2001, West O‘ahu has participated periodically in the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Currently, almost 650 colleges and universities across the United States participate in this survey. The results provide comparisons across multiple dimensions of student academic engagement, personal development, and satisfaction with campus services and programs. For recent graduates and alumni, in-house surveys (Recent Graduates/Graduating Seniors Surveys, Alumni Surveys) inquire about their post-graduation plans, advanced educational goals, professional aspirations, employment status, and suggestions for improving campus programs and services.
The findings of the surveys are shared with West O‘ahu administration, faculty, and staff to facilitate institutional planning, program improvements, and research as appropriate.
